According to Shvetashvatara Upanishad:

"न तस्य रोगो न जरा न मृत्युः। प्राप्तस्य योगाग्निमयंं शरीरम्"

Meaning:
A person who has purified their body in the fire of Yoga is free from all disease, old age, and premature death. The Brahmavidya Upanishad also emphasises the benefits of Yoga in terms of longevity and health.

Mental disorders are caused by disturbances in the mind. If the mind is healthy, so is the body. There is a strong link between the mind and body—when the mind is filled with sorrow (Vishada), the body weakens, and when the body is ill, mental disorders develop. Yoga balances the mind and promotes mental peace, stability, and emotional resilience.

“मन एव मनुष्याणांं  कारणंं बन्धमोक्षयोः।
बन्धाय विषयासक्तंं मुक्त्यै नर्विषयंं स्मृतम्॥

Meaning:
The mind causes both bondage (Bandha) and liberation (Moksha). Attachment to material pleasures binds a person, whereas detachment from worldly desires results in liberation. Yoga is the ultimate tool for guiding the mind to Ishwara (God-consciousness) and achieving Self-Realization (Tattvajnana).
