अयंं तु परमो धर्मो यत्योगेेन आत्मदर्शनम् याज्ञवल्क्य स्मृति"
MEANS- The greatest responsibility (Param Dharma) of human life is to realize the Self (ĀtmaDarśana) and meet the Supreme (Brahma-Sākṣātkāra) through Yoga.
Mukti (liberation) is the ultimate goal of yoga and spiritual practice. However, several obstacles known as “enemies of Mukti” prevent a person from achieving spiritual liberation. These obstacles are primarily due to ignorance, attachment, and negative mental tendencies.
THE TWO WAYS:
1.Jīvanmukta (Liberation during life)- A Jīvanmukta is someone who has discovered their true self (Ātman) and no longer associates with the ego, mind, or body.
2.Videhamukta (Liberation after death)
6 ENEMIES(SHADRIPU)
i. Kāma (Desire): When you can’t control your wants, the mind keeps running after “more.” Fulfilling one desire leads to another, resulting in an endless cycle of LUST. Practicing contentment (Santośa) and self-control (Brahmacharya) can help you overcome your desires.
ii. Krodha (Anger): Anger clouds your mind and pushes you toward harmful words and actions. It steals your peace. It disturbs mental peace and generates negative karma. Patience, tolerance, and calmness are your shields against it.
iii. Lobha (Greed): The hunger for money, power, or status never ends. Greed traps you in material life. Try generosity and selflessness to feel truly rich.
iv. Moha (Delusion): Blind attachment to people or things makes you forget that everything changes.Wisdom( VIVEKA) helps you see life as it really is.
v. Mada (Pride): Pride builds a wall between you and others, even between you and the Divine(ईश्वरीय) . Gratitude and humility bring you closer to truth.
vi. Mātsarya (Jealousy): Envy eats away your joy and peace. Learn to be happy for others and accept yourself as you are.
